The 2010 season of giving kicked off at Burbank Temple Emanu El Preschool’s trike-a-thon fundraiser, where eager young toddlers raced their trikes, pulled their wagons and pushed their doll strollers to donate Jester books and dolls to comfort and support the children of Providence Medical Center, Tarzana and Disney Family Cancer Center at Providence St. Joseph in Burbank. The preschool’s annual “Mitzvah Day” fundraiser helps children learn the value of helping others. "They need to learn to give as well as to receive," say school director Carol Miller. "We teach them that it is important to be part of the community and to help other people. And they are old enough to learn that." Related news story.
