WITH PANACHEDr. Norman Panitch, former Chief of Staff of Torrance Memorial Medical Center and a member of The Jester & Pharley Phund Board of Governors, joins Barbara Saltzman, The Jester's Mom, in talking about the value of laughter in keeping up the spirits of young patients, and how much The Jester & Pharley keep those smiles coming.

THE STORY BEGINSBarbara Saltzman, The Jester's Mom, reads the happy tale of The Jester & Pharley's quest for laughter to young patients and family members at Torrance Memorial.
 
AND HE TALKED HIS FUNNY TALKSeven-year-old Orlando Quesada, who attends Norman Elementary School in Harbor City, does a great job of coloring in The Jester & Pharley entertaining the little girl in the hospital and reveals that he smiles when "people make me laugh."
 
BUDDING ARTIST — Young Sam Telkamp doesn't let a bandaged wrist stop him from coloring in the fanciful drawing of The Jester & Pharley, just as his two-year-old brother Josh is doing.
 
SMILES BY THE SMILE CART Enjoying The Jester & Pharley Smile Cart and its contents -- including a TV, VCR and CD-radio-audio unit provided by Sony Medical Systems - are Torrance Memorial patients and family members, for whom The Jester & Pharley Doll serves as a reminder that their smiles are always inside them.
