AN HONORLittle Company of Mary President Mark Costa tells Cynthia Allan, right, Barbara Saltzman, left, and guests what a difference Eric Allan meant to the community and how pleased the hospital is to have The Jester & Pharley Smile Cart in his memory to bring joy to young patients. It is equipped with a VCR, TV and boom box donated by Sony Medical Systems as well as 100 "Jester Has Lost His Jingle" books and 100 Jester & Pharley Dolls and bookmarks for gifting to patients.

MALAGA BANK HONORJohn Polen, President and CEO of Malaga Bank, left, and Debbie Richardson, Executive Vice President and Director of Retail Banking, receive a certificate of appreciation from Little Company of Mary Chief Executive Blair Contratto for their efforts to involve bank customers in donating The Jester & Pharley Smile Cart to the hospital in memory of bank founder and hospital trustee Eric Allan. The bank contributed an additional $2,500 at the Smile Cart dedication to help keep The Jester & Pharley Smile Cart filled with Jester & Pharley books and dolls for gifting to young Little Company of Mary patients.

Eric Allan, who supported numerous community activities and philanthropies in the South Bay, was also a member of the Rotary Club of Palos Verdes. Joining in the enthusiastic applause are his widow Cynthia Allan and son Brian Allan.

THE JOY OF GIVINGTrevor Tessalone, left, and his sister Tori, stand between The Jester's Mom, center, and Little Company of Mary Chief Executive Blair Contratto as they are given a warm round of applause for their generosity and spirit of caring. "These youngsters and their brother, Troy, represent the best there is in young people today," said Barbara Saltzman. "For the last two years — before the first Jester & Pharley Smile Cart was presented to any hospital they told their family that they wished to forego Christmas gifts so that they could give copies of 'The Jester Has Lost His Jingle' to young patients at Little Company of Mary and Torrance Memorial hospitals. They even raided their own piggy banks. And they have given more than 50 copies of 'The Jester' to be distributed to young patients." Blair Contratto presented Trevor and Tori and their brother Troy with Certificates of Appreciation for their continuing concern for ill children.
