During the 2008-2009 school year, the children that the Toberman Neighborhood Center serve, participated in The Jester & Pharley Phund's Read-A-Thon and kept journals to document their reading. Altogether, they read 94,500 pages. Toberman, along with the Crail-Johnson Foundation, was able to donate 33 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and 33 Jester & Pharley Dolls to both the LAPD, in memory of SWAT officer Randy Simmons, and to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro, CA for use with their pediatric patients.
