During the month long Read-a-Thon, 184 students from 156th Street Elementary kept journals to document their reading. Altogether, they read 132,175 pages. The school, along with the S. Mark Taper Foundation, was able to donate 38 copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and 38 Jester & Pharley Dolls to the pediatric patients at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA. |
