Reading to Give™

Schools whose students have more resources may embark on a Jester & Pharley Read-a-Thon for a penny a page. The goal is for each student to read 1,000 pages, earning $10. Every child who successfully meets this goal may write his/her name in the donor book given to a local hospital. Click here to see which schools have participated in the program.

 

Goal
To provide students attending schools in neighborhoods with resources an opportunity to concretely express compassion while improving their reading abilities

  • To encourage each student to participate in a Jester & Pharley Read-A-Thon by reading 1,000 pages for a penny a page and raising $10, enabling them to personally donate a copy of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle to a local hospital patient
  • Each student who reads 1,000 pages and donates $10 may write his/her name in the gift bookplate
