Reading Makes A Difference ™

This award-winning grant-underwritten program encourages character development at Title I schools by teaching compassion while students expand their reading skills. The centerpiece of the program is a Jester & Pharley Read-A-Thon which enables students to donate copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and Jester & Pharley Doll to a local hospital.

Reading Makes A Difference Challenge™

Schools that have successfully completed a Jester & Pharley Read-A-Thon are challenged to build upon their past achievements. Sponsorship by individuals, local businsses and foundations enables the students to donate additional copies of The Jester Has Lost His Jingle and Jester & Pharley Doll to a local hospital.

Reading To Give™

Schools whose students have more resources may embark on a Jester & Pharley Read-A-Thon for a penny a page. The goal is for each student to read 1,000 pages, earning $10. Every child who successfully meets this goal may write his/her name in the donor book given to a local hospital.
